Physician Assistant

In order to qualify for a Physician Assistant, GS-0603 position, you must: have graduated from a physician assistant educational program, accredited by The Accreditation Review Committee on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors, at a College, university, or educational institution that is accredited by an accrediting body or organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education; AND have successfully completed the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) examination; AND have maintained status as a certified physician assistant, including completion of all requirements for continuing medical education (CME) and re-certification; AND possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician Assistant from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the above, in order to qualify at the GS-13 level, you must have 1 year of work experience as a certified physician assistant equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: conducting physical assessments and examinations of patients; recommending treatment and therapies for patients with complex health issues; serving as a specialty consultant to nursing services and health disciplines; and interviewing patients to obtain medical history, medications and previous or current infections and diseases. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
