CYS Assistant Facility Director NF-04

This position is located at Fort Hamilton, New York. Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees working at least 15 hours per week) Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees working at least 15 hours per week) Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Education: Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in child development, early childhood education, elementary or secondary education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education, or other fields appropriate to the position. - For positions in Youth Facilities: The education must have been in youth development, youth administration, secondary education, home economics, physical education, elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science. OR one of the following: Combination of education and experience as stated below in Option 1 & 2: Option 1: A combination of education and experience. Education: 24 semester hours in the majors stated above or a related field (see above), plus appropriate experience. Experience: Candidate must also possess all of the following:1. 12 months experience working in group programs with children/youth as well as demonstrated knowledge in theories and principals of child growth/youth development of which 6 months must be in a supervisory position.2. The McCormick Credential. OR Option 2: A combination of education and experience. Education: 24 semester hours in the majors stated above or a related field (see above), plus appropriate experience.Experience: Candidate must also possess all of the following:1. At least 12 months experience working in group programs with children/youth as well as demonstrated knowledge in theories and principals of child growth/youth development of which 12 months must be in a supervisory position. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": 2 years of CYS managerial experience Experience with after school programs and camps serving children in Kindergarten - 12th grade Experience with Boys and Girls Club of America & Council of Accreditation
