Outreach Services Director NF-04

This Full-Time position is with Parent & Outreach Services at Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico. Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee applicable to employees working at least 15 hours per week: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to the qualifications listed below. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Successful completion of an undergraduate Degree that included or was supplemented by major study (at least 24 semester hours) in fieldwork, which directly relates to CYS such as: early childhood/elementary/secondary/special education, child/youth development, psychology, youth program administration, or a closely related field. OR A combination of education and experience - courses equivalent to a major in a subject matter field (24 semester hours) appropriate to the position (see above), plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above. In addition to the qualifications listed above, all candidates must possess: 1. At least 24 months working in child and/or youth programs. 2. Experience in child and youth program administration. 3. The ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions. 4. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English. 5. The physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who submit resumes reflecting ALL of the following experience will be considered "Highly Qualified" and may be sent first for consideration: At least 1 year of experience working in one of the following Department of War Child & Youth Services positions: Assistant Director, Training Specialist, Supervisory Program Specialist, Supervisory Education Technician, or Facility Director. Experience working with the following systems: Military Child Care, Child and Youth Management System (CYMS), and DARS CYS Budgeting. 1 year of experience supervising employees, conducting performance evaluations, addressing personnel issues, and developing staff.
