What MyPRjobs is

MyPRjobs gathers Puerto Rico jobs in one place: federal positions posted for the island (imported from USAJOBS), Department of Education calls (Recluta DDE), direct-employer jobs and postings from other public sources. Every job links to its original announcement; nothing is invented here.

Beyond the listings, the site includes tools for applying: a resume builder (private and federal format), a cover letter builder, a per-job preparation page and an application tracker. This guide walks the full flow in order.

Step 1: search the way you talk

The search box understands natural phrases: type "nurse in Ponce", "federal job in Guaynabo" or "warehouse near Caguas" and the page turns your phrase into town, category and source filters. You can also filter manually by municipality, trade category and source type (federal, government, direct employers).

If a job interests you but you are not ready to apply, save it, saved jobs feed the closing-date reminders and the tracker.

Step 2: create your job alert

Instead of checking the site every day, create an alert: pick towns and categories (you can select several) and receive matching new jobs by email. No account needed, just confirm your email. You can unsubscribe from any alert email.

Step 3: build your resume (private or federal)

The resume builder walks you step by step: resume type, contact info, experience, education and skills, with a live preview and a PDF download ready to hand in. The private format follows Puerto Rico's professional standard (2 pages); the federal one uses the detailed format USAJOBS raters expect, hours per week, supervisor and expanded duties.

You never start from a blank page: the assistant brings typical duties for your trade so you check the ones you truly did, and a coach turns your numbers (customers per day, register size, deliveries) into measurable achievements. The resume X-ray compares your document against the job you are applying to and shows which posted skills you already back up and which are missing.

Everything you type stays on your device. Your resume is never uploaded to any MyPRjobs server.

Step 4: the cover letter

The letter builder assembles a professional letter with your info, the job and achievements from your resume, in the letter format island employers are used to seeing, including the key-accomplishments bullet list. Same as the resume: it downloads as a PDF and nothing leaves your device.

Step 5: prepare each job's application

Every job has a "Prepare application" button: a page with the checklist of requirements from the announcement (licenses, documents, education), links to build the resume and letter targeted at THAT job, and (when the posting has a closing date) an email reminder one day before it closes.

For federal positions, the page adds the announcement number and the USAJOBS-specific steps. MyPRjobs does not determine whether you qualify (the agency decides that) but it leaves your package ready.

Step 6: follow up

In "My applications" you mark each job as it moves: applied, interview, offer or closed. The post-apply kit gives you a follow-up email template (for YOU to send, after about 7 days) and likely interview questions built from your own achievements and the job's trade, with the STAR method for answering them.

Your information and safety

What you type in the resume, letter and checklists lives in your browser, not on MyPRjobs servers. The X-ray also warns you if you typed data that no longer belongs on a resume (social security number, date of birth, marital status) to protect you from identity theft and discrimination.
