This position is based at our Santa Isabel, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

As a SMT Engineering Technician , you will responsible for providing technical support to surface mount technology (SMT) manufacturing processes. This role includes implementing, installing, programming, commissioning, and optimizing equipment used for electronic PCB assembly. The technician collaborates closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to ensure safe, efficient, and stable SMT operations, while supporting new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you will Do

Support SMT line start‑up, daily operation, and new equipment installation

Create and maintain Pick & Place programs and component libraries

Configure and optimize AOI/SPI systems and solder paste printing

Develop and adjust reflow profiles and SMT process parameters

Perform test runs, first‑article inspections, NPIs, and troubleshoot issues

Analyze defects, conduct root‑cause analysis, and drive corrective actions

Maintain documentation, train operators, and ensure compliance with ESD, safety, and quality standards

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience

Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English (verbal and written)

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer

Technical degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Electromechanics, Automation, or a related field

Experience in electronic component manufacturing or PCB assembly

Hands‑on experience with SMT processes
