What counts as an open position?
Every job in the MyPRjobs catalog that is open today in that municipality: federal, Government of Puerto Rico and private employers. Closed postings, duplicates and restricted inventory are left out. A posting whose city is a neighborhood (Hato Rey, Levittown) counts for its municipality.
Where does the published pay come from?
Only from postings that state an hourly wage between $8 and $80; the figure shown is the median of those postings. Most postings do not publish pay, so the median describes the ones that do, not every job in the town.
Why does my town have no median?
A median is shown only when at least 10 postings in that municipality publish an hourly wage. With fewer, one or two postings would move the number too much, so the card says "Few ads publish pay" instead.
How often is the map updated?
With every import, several times a day. The time stamp at the top says when the counts were taken. Population is the 2020 Census.
