Nursing at the VA: which license is requiredShow

Under the official VA qualification standard for registered nurses, the license must be from a U.S. state, territory or commonwealth, or the District of Columbia, and must be active, current and unrestricted. VA law includes Puerto Rico in its definition of "State". Health care professionals appointed by the VA may work at the VA in any state with a single valid license, and patient care requires proficiency in spoken and written English. Each job announcement has the final word.
